Several years ago, tennis players basically from Ranao could be counted in fingers. There were Bibot Bangcola, Abulkhayr Macabato, Benjie Usman, Mahmoud Sindab, to name a few. These Maranao tennis professionals had proven their excellence in the field of tennis by winning so many tournaments of different categories. Prior to the birth of the Ranao Tennis Club (RTC) the Federation of Maranao Associations in Saudi (FEMAS) used to sponsor various sports tournaments including tennis, involving all Filipino Muslim tennis players in Riyadh. In early 2000 the number of Maranao tennis players had dramatically increased. In every tennis tournament held in Riyadh, there has always been the Ranao team organized by Datu Mike Sharif being the permanent Sports Director of FEMAS. On October 27, 2001 Maranao tennis players in Riyadh formed themselves into a group in order to have an organization of tennis players from Ranao and called it the Ranao Tennis Club (RTC) with Engr. Mahmoud Sindab as its founding president, Engr. Alinor Bantuas as vice president, Datu Macalinding Capal as secretary, Datu Mike Sharif as treasurer, and Datu Saidali Malik as auditor. Coordinators were Cadir, Engr. Faisal Guimbor, and the late Yacub Tamano. Islamic Advisers were Engr. Jamaludden Abduraheem, Aleem Zainodin "AbuSalwa" Obinay, and Aleem Alioden "AbuToba" Abdulwahab
